When does a twin-tank system make sense over a single tank?
If your household uses more than 300–400 gallons per day, or if you can't tolerate any period of hard water (e.g. hospitals, restaurants, large families), a twin-tank system is the right choice.
Does it use more salt than a single-tank system?
No — because it regenerates on demand and can stagger cycles, it's typically MORE salt-efficient than a single tank that has to regenerate more frequently or at fixed times.
Is the installation more complex?
It takes slightly longer (3–4 hours vs 2–3 hours), but the process is the same. We handle everything and program both control heads before we leave.
